Schema for SEO

Big G, Yahoo and Bing had come together in a surprise yet good agreement on to have a standard format for web page elements. This June they had concluded to follow standard guidelines for a webpage and to define each and every element in a webpage. This means a lot to SEO specifically on site optimization.

A SEO company or individual no longer have the headache of optimizing a site for Google or Yahoo separately as they understand a common language now. As you are aware Yahoo use Bing for their search it comes handy for an SEO to get his site ranked in all the 3 search engines through schema. Implementing Schema for a webpage is not so difficult after all and if your site is dynamic it is far more easier to implement the schema through a couple of codes in the backend.

However CMS like wordpress, Joomla and Drupal may be a bit tricky. We will soon find plugins to implement schema in these CMS based sites. Schema benefits more to ecommerce sites than any other industry. With a proper schema the results displayed in Search engines will be more detailed and precise.

You can get the schema for your web page elements at schema.org . Schema will be a MUST HAVE and top priority for ecommerce sites. Magento developers have started working on Schema’s and we have implemented schema in a couple of client sites and yet to track the performance in search engines. Here is a typical example
